IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE

This Week’s Improvements

The seawall between the Island and Puerto del Sol is now complete! We’ve also removed the walkaway and installed new rip-rap up to the curb.

The structural improvements on docks E, F and G are still ongoing. Weather conditions lately are dictating some of the progress on structural repairs. Once these improvements are complete, we’ll begin structural repairs on Puerto del Sol along with the marina lighting project, which has been held up by high winds.

As always, if you have any questions about this progress, please don’t hesitate to call Christie or Jim – we’re here for you!

SERVICE TIPS

Dockline Series – How To Use Docklines

Unless your boat is unusually heavy or will be subjected to severe conditions, a bow line, stern line, and at least two spring lines are recommended.

Spring lines keep the boat snugly near the dock, preventing it from moving fore or aft, while allowing for the rise and fall of the tide. Of course, if your permanent slip has outboard pilings as well, you’ll need an additional bow and stern line. You should also have enough lines to double up when expecting very bad weather.

Stay tuned for future tips and don’t hesitate to call or email us to get your boat ready for boating season:
