Samantha and Di kept an eye on this sweet little dog, Lightning, while his parents dined at The Island last weekend. We kept him full of treats and water while they enjoyed their meal before heading back out on their bikes for the day!

This weekend, from 8am Friday – 7pm Sunday, Highport members can get 50¢ off per gallon on all three grades of fuel.

We’ve even gone so far as to arrange the options based on our “most requested calls”. After dialing our main number, you can now dial:

We also have great progress to report for our lighting project. The launch ramp parking area lighting is now complete, as well as lighting in the lower parking lot and service slab area.

Lastly, as you prepare for Memorial Day weekend, please remember that Highport’s RV Park is shut down for the season and will become the trailer storage area. Protect Your Family from Electric Shock Drowning

Learn about the Electric Shock Drowning Prevention Association, a nonprofit organization devoted to saving the lives of those who frequent recreation waters. Awareness is the first step to protecting your family and friends. Their mission is to save lives by:

• preventing injuries and loss of life due to Electric Shock Drowning (ESD) and water-related electrocutions;
• promoting the understanding of the mechanisms of ESD so you know how this can happen;
• spreading awareness to high risk areas;
• providing a resource for the investigation of all suspicious drownings to identify ESD;
• identifying prevention measures for ESD using American Boat and Yacht Council, National Fire Protection Association, and National Electrical standards, with other existing technology; and,
• enlisting your help in a nationwide effort to prevent these tragedies from occurring.
