VP – Marina Operations
Christie has been with Highport Marina since March of 2005. As the Vice President of Marina Operations, Christie’s leadership extends beyond managing all administrative functions of the marina; she’s also been spotted running the fuel dock, working at the restaurant, and inspecting boats with the fire department. To say she is a team player is to not pay enough tribute to the key role she plays each day for Highport Marina. In almost a decade with Highport, she’s seen a lot. But her most memorable moment was meeting her husband at the Flood Party of 2007. They were later engaged and married at Highport among friends and family.
In her role, Christie gets an array of requests and calls from customers and is enthusiastic to serve them well. But her most memorable phone call came one day from a woman who was planning a visit to Highport for the weekend. She asked Christie what the weather looked like for the weekend. When she heard that it might rain, she wanted to be sure that Highport would refund her for any rentals or activities that weekend. “I didn’t know I was supposed to be in charge of the weather, too!” Christie laughed. If she could bring perfect weather to the marina every day, she would – besides being the only full-service marina on Lake Texoma, Christi says Highport is the “happening place” for entertainment and fun. “It’s easily accessible from any direction and we have the quickest, easiest access to the island areas where you can raft up and hang out with friends, knee deep in the water.”
