Start off the boating season right and get out to Highport for a weekend of fun in the sun!
We had such a great time over the weekend with you kicking off the spring boating season! Thanks for making the first annual Burning of the Socks and Switch to Flip Flops event a huge success.
We have been pushing forward this week on the metal and structural repairs on docks E, F & G.
The 12″ thick concrete slab you may have noticed at the west end of the administration parking area has been poured and is in the curing phase being prepared for the new 10,000 gallon above ground fuel tank system. We are still expecting this to be in service about May 1.
The Island Bar & Grill floor is quickly nearing completion, and is now composed of Trex timbers complete with a sub-floor for temperature control. The Freezer/Refrigeration is installed and walls are about to go up in to the kitchen and office area. The kitchen equipment, fire suppression and water purification systems will be installed as soon as possible.
As always, if you have any questions about this progress, please don’t hesitate to call Christie or Jim – we’re here for you!
Talk about a great entertainment space!

As a general rule, docklines should equal two-thirds of your boat’s overall length.
However, spring lines should be considerably longer. You will need to be able to use these to bring your boat alongside while docking. You may need to pay the spring line out to ease your boat to a stop in the right position. This is an art in itself, but very important.
You should have lines of various lengths available to use depending on the circumstances as you come alongside a dock and the pilings and cleats on the dock. The shortest should be approximately the same length as your boat.
Stay tuned for future tips and don’t hesitate to call or email us to get your boat ready for boating season:
